All of us at Thornhill Baseball hope everyone is staying healthy and safe under the unusual and unprecedented circumstances we are currently living through.
The extended shutdown and stay at home order in Ontario have unfortunately delayed the start of our 2021 House League Baseball season. Rest assured, we are busy working towards the day we can start playing baseball once again.
When baseball does return, our #1 priority will be the health and safety of all our house league participants. Specifically, our house league program will be governed by York Region Public Health guidelines and Baseball Ontario’s Return to Sport Protocols. These protocols, designed for outdoor sports, include restrictions on how many kids can play per division (a division bubble), social distancing provisions, enhanced cleaning procedures, an online symptom screening tool which players must pass before being allowed on the field, etc. To learn more about the entire set of safety measures which will be followed this season please click here.
Based on our best guess (subject to change), below is Thornhill Baseball’s current 2021 House League season plan:
- June 21st: House League Baseball Training Academy Begins (Pre-Season Clinics)
- July 5th: House League Season Begins
- Maximum 50 players, 4 teams per division (a division bubble)
- Games to be scheduled once government COVID-19 guidelines allow
- August 30: Championship Week
- Celebration of baseball across all house league divisions

BONUS BASEBALL: Thornhill Baseball will host a series of FREE baseball clinics open to all house league participants. The plan is to host these clinics on Sunday mornings throughout July and August. Details to follow.
