Senior Reds win 2018 GTBL Championship
The Thornhill Reds went 4-1 on the GTBL championship weekend and won their fourth GTBL championship in the past six seasons. It was a great ending for manager Nolan Revin and his troops, who had a fantastic season all around. The Reds fashioned a 17-6-2 regular season record which saw them win the league pennant by a four-game margin, leading the way from season start to finish. The Reds put together four, four-game win streaks in league play and were the 2018 class of the league.
Reds SS Argenis Paz has won all four GTBL titles and was a huge part of the 2018 championship tourney. Over the weekend he went 9/19(.474), with 4 2B, 6 RBI and scored six runs over the five games. Centre fielder Sean Sutton also paced the Reds attack all weekend long, going 7/14(.500), adding 3 2B, a mammoth HR, 4 RBI and scoring seven times.
The senior Reds finish the year at an impressive 35-10-2 including a 5-0 tournament win in Ottawa, a 4-0 tournament weekend(rained out semis) at the prestigious Hap Walters tournament in July, and GTBL champions. Congratulations to coach Revin and all the members of the Reds on a productive season, the future continues to look bright as Thornhill keeps rolling.
